We're growing and and we're looking for a seasoned Federal Employee Benefits Specialist to join our remote team.

About the Role :

This is a fully remote position supporting federal clients through virtual meetings, consultations, and collaboration. You'll serve as the trusted expert on federal employee benefits with experience providing strategic and technical guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers on a wide range of benefits -related matters. From retirement processing to complex eligibility questions, your knowledge will directly impact the employee experience for federal workers across the country.

What You'll Do :

  • Provide expert advice and support on federal employee benefits , including :

Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS)

  • Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS)
  • Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI)
  • Thrift Savings Plan (TSP)
  • Long-Term Care (LTC)
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
  • Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
  • Offer accurate, clear guidance on enrollment, changes in coverage, retirement options, creditable service, and survivor benefits .
  • Calculate Service Computation Dates (SCDs) and retirement annuity estimates-including complex retirement scenarios such as phased or disability retirement.
  • Handle Federal Erroneous Retirement Coverage Correction Act (FERCCA) cases and other special entitlements.
  • Lead one-on-one retirement counseling sessions and support in-house virtual retirement planning programs.
  • Audit personnel records and resolve discrepancies per OPM guidance.
  • Participate in virtual client meetings and team check-ins via Microsoft Teams.
  • What You Bring :

  • A minimum of 7 years of recent experience (within the last 10 years, with at least 3 of those years within the last 5) working in federal employee benefits , including retirement processing.
  • Strong understanding of OPM policies, retirement systems, and federal benefits programs.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products , including : (Matt we don't need all of this in the ad)
  • MS Word (policy documentation, letters, and forms)

  • MS Excel (calculations, retirement estimates, and data tracking)
  • MS SharePoint (document management and collaboration)
  • MS Teams (virtual meetings and team communication)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable explaining complex benefits to employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities in a virtual environment, and deliver accurate, timely guidance.
  • Bonus Points If You Have :

  • Previous consulting or contractor experience with a federal agency.
  • Familiarity with GRB, EBIS, or eOPF systems.
