Job summary

Marsh McLennan Agency is seeking a Benefits Financial Consultant to analyze and model client medical and pharmacy costs, develop analytic tools, and support strategic benefit decisions. You will interact with clients and internal teams to deliver data-driven recommendations.

The role requires a strong analytical background, ASA progress, and the ability to build collaboration with carriers and colleagues. Hybrid work and competitive rewards are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or a similar field.
• In process of obtaining ASA designation.
• Exceptional Analytical Ability demonstrated through course work and experience.
• Ability to pro-actively form productive working relationships with other team members, decision makers, and insurance carrier personnel.
• Energetic and self-directed with a high degree of commitment, highly motivated and strong work ethic with consistent initiative and follow through on projects and tasks to completion while meeting deadlines.
• Adaptable and able to change priorities and multi-task regularly to meet deadlines.
• Experience implementing new processes as required to improve company efficiency and effectiveness.
• Capable of maintaining the strictest confidentiality regarding client and company data and information.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of utilization and unit cost drivers of medical and pharmacy expenses; develop recommendations on plan designs and care provider usage.
• Provide in person and virtual consultation with clients regarding employee benefits program strategies.
• Conduct claim projections and trend analysis for larger clients; track claims and update forecasts.
• Review and/or prepare annual benefit plan renewals; liaise with carriers and actuarial personnel to ensure fair ratings and premiums.
• Develop modeling tools and spreadsheets to help clients and employees make informed benefit decisions.
• Develop models to predict IBNR reserves with greater accuracy and reduced variance.
• Assist with data analytics integration across disability, life and other benefits.
• Act as an analytical resource for team members daily.
