Summary

Balfour Beatty seeks a Benefits Analyst with leave administration experience to join our team. This individual can be based in Dallas, TX, or Atlanta, GA. This is a hybrid role that allows the selected candidate to work from both the office and home (two days in the office, three from home). Extensive LOA experience is required.

The Benefits Analyst will partner with internal and external groups to develop, implement, and coordinate benefit plans, leave management administration, programs, and procedures for all employees. The Benefits Analyst will display exceptional communication skills to ensure that employees and management have a thorough understanding of the leave management process, health and welfare programs, costs, and eligibility requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Benefit - Leave of Absence Management
    • Manage the full cycle process of LOA (FMLA, STD, PPL, LTD). Prepare biweekly payroll reports for LOAs. Prepare tracking spreadsheets for all LOA cases. Proactively lead discussions with HR/Managers/Employees to ensure all involved have appropriate information and status regarding each leave case; Assist in premium collections for employees in unpaid status (e.g., Out on Workers’ Comp).
  • General Benefit Questions
    • Serve as the primary contact for calls and emails with managers and employees regarding questions about medical, dental, vision, and voluntary benefits.
  • Participate in weekly vendor calls to discuss performance and concerns. Assist in troubleshooting issues with vendors; ensure resolution of issues and necessary adjustments. Assist in auditing data integrity between internal and external systems.
  • Annual Processes, such as Open Enrollment
    • Collaborate and help lead the annual Open Enrollment process, provide updates, and create engagement. Monitor data flow between BBI and vendors for quality and consistency.
  • Training and Outreach
    • Develop and lead training and outreach efforts to educate employees and managers about benefit offerings, ensuring understanding and utilization.
  • Accommodations
    • Assist with medical accommodations and updates related to leave cases and employee return-to-work status.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in employer-based group health and welfare analysis, with exposure to multi-site plans and vendor management. Experience supporting multiple business units in a shared services model is a plus.
  • Understanding of HR policies, benefits, and payroll. Strong communication and Excel skills. Ability to handle sensitive information, work independently, and within a team.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and support various HR projects and initiatives.
  • Experience with planning, implementing, and overseeing company wellness plans is preferred.
