Job summary

LCS is seeking a benefits administrator to manage health and welfare plans, retirement programs, and related compliance tasks in Des Moines, IA. You will serve as a primary point of contact for benefits administration and maintain accurate data across systems.

The role requires at least two years in HR or benefits, a bachelor’s degree preference, and strong organizational and communication skills. Competitive benefits and a collaborative culture are highlighted.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years in Human Resources or benefits role.
  • Experience with benefits programs and HR processes is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health, welfare, and retirement plans.
  • Strong administrative and data accuracy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as contact for daily administration of benefit programs (health, welfare, retirement).
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of benefits terminology and plan details.
  • Research and respond to IRS notices regarding ACA compliance and updates.
  • Review vendor/carrier reports and take appropriate actions.
  • Address employee questions about benefits and system elections.
  • Maintain the benefits process library and ensure accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate with accounting/payroll to resolve coverage and deduction discrepancies.
  • Update benefit data across systems and vendor portals.
  • Test systems during enrollment and upgrades.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as an assigned contact for day-to-day service and administrative tasks of benefit programs including health & welfare and retirement programs.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of general health benefits, retirement plans, and insurance carrier and company terminology.
  • Research and respond to IRS notices regarding ACA compliance and manage the ACA update notification process.
  • Review vendor/carrier reports and notices and take appropriate actions.
  • Research and resolve employee concerns and issues related to their benefits or system elections.
  • Manage and maintain an updated and comprehensive process and procedure library.
  • Research discrepancies and collaborate with corporate accounting and payroll to resolve differences relating to employee coverages and payroll deductions.
  • Update and maintain benefit-related data in system and vendor systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Complete system testing related to annual enrollment, ad-hoc changes, or system upgrades.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum of two years in Human Resources or benefit-related role required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong PC skills and ability to use and administer specialized computer applications. Oracle HCM Cloud knowledge is preferred but not required.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail including the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.

  • Understanding of applicable regulations related to benefit plans.
