PEPL is seeking highly skilled and experienced Benefits Administrator Consultant with a strong background in managing and optimizing employee benefits programs across multiple platforms. As a remote consultant, you will work with various clients to assess, design, implement, and manage benefits systems to ensure efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction. This position requires expertise in administering benefits through popular benefits management systems and a deep understanding of industry regulations and best practices.
Responsibilities:
· Provide expert consulting services to clients on the design, implementation, and management of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs.
· Configure and maintain benefits systems to streamline the administration of benefits, ensuring accurate enrollment, eligibility, and claims processing.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to benefits systems, including payroll deductions, plan configurations, and integration with other HR systems.
· Collaborate with HR teams, brokers, and vendors to ensure seamless benefits administration and integration with other HR tools.
· Analyze benefits plan performance and provide recommendations for cost-effective improvements.
· Manage compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA) and provide guidance on regulatory changes that may impact benefits offerings.
· Train client staff on benefits system usage and best practices.
· Act as the main point of contact for clients during system transitions, plan changes, or open enrollment periods.
· Prepare and deliver reports on benefits metrics and system performance to key stakeholders.
· Assist with the open enrollment process, providing guidance on plan options, benefits eligibility, and system troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
· 5+ years of experience in benefits administration, with a focus on multiple benefits systems and platforms.
· Strong experience with multiple leading benefits administration systems such as:
· Expertise in benefits plan design, eligibility rules, claims management, and system integrations.
· Solid understanding of healthcare benefits, retirement plans, wellness programs, and voluntary benefits.
· In-depth knowledge of relevant benefits regulations (ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.).
· Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues within benefits systems.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to present to and train employees at various organizational levels.
· Experience working remotely and managing projects independently.
· Certification in Benefits Administration (e.g., Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or similar credentials) is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
· Previous experience consulting with clients on benefits administration systems and processes.
· Experience with benefits system integrations and data migrations.
· Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or similar).
· Knowledge of global benefits administration for international organizations is a plus.
