Job summary

Graymont is seeking a Benefits Administrator to manage employee benefits, wellness, and well-being programs across Canada and the United States. This remote role requires proactive problem-solving, strong communication, and a focus on a positive employee experience.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of benefits administration experience in Canadian and U.S. programs, knowledge of health, retirement, and wellness benefits, and proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of benefits administration experience, including Canadian and U.S. programs.
  • Knowledge of health and welfare, retirement, disability, wellness, and FSA administration.
  • Strong benefits administration, vendor management, communication, problem-solving, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Required Certification: CEBS designation or progress toward certification, and multi-jurisdictional compliance experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • English fluency; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Canadian and U.S. benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and spending accounts such as FSA and HCSA.
  • Manage enrollments, life events, beneficiary updates, terminations, open enrollment, eligibility, and plan provisions.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records in HRIS and vendor systems and assist employees with claims, coverage, and benefit questions.
  • Administer global wellness programs and employee wellbeing initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities, incentives, challenges, engagement campaigns, vendor support, and program evaluation.
  • Respond to employee benefit inquiries and explain programs, coverage, and enrollment clearly.
  • Develop and deliver communications, webinars, education materials, and open enrollment sessions.
  • Manage relationships with benefit carriers and retirement providers.
  • Coordinate administration, resolve billing issues, and support implementations, renewals, and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, employee experience, program delivery, and engagement.
  • Support open enrollment planning, wellness initiatives, new program implementation, and related HR or total rewards projects.

This role supports employees, leaders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure programs are delivered effectively, clearly communicated, and aligned with positive employee experience. The ideal candidate is proactive, resourceful, customer-focused, comfortable presenting to employees, and skilled at solving issues and improving processes.
