Job Responsibility:
Our Opportunity:

The Benefits Account Specialist manages client accounts, providing professional and courteous account management and broker services. The role requires a driven and self-motivated individual to maintain a client base and work with the Benefits and Implementation team to service and maintain existing accounts.

What You'll Do:

  • Process New Group Plans, including enrollment, waiver forms, and census via paper or benefits enrollment system reports.
  • Handle Renewal, obtaining renewal from carriers, analyzing client needs, and generating renewal proposals.
  • Provide Client Services & Administration, including receiving and processing group requests, assisting with claims and enrollment changes, and resolving billing problems.
  • Plan and coordinate the annual Open Enrollment process.
  • Work with internal partners, carriers, and TPAs to resolve issues and ensure accurate responses.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance markets, networks, and benefit plan options.
  • Maintain agency-shared files and records, utilizing company software to manage projects and track performance.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and industry trends, providing consultation and training to cross-functional team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks and demonstrate the company's core values daily.

  • Active Accident and Health Agent license.
  • 3+ years' experience in an Employee Benefits related position.
  • Previous experience with managing renewals and marketing small group benefit plans.
  • Strong knowledge of the CA small group marketplace and ability to use common software and web applications.
