Job description

Job Title: Meat Department Manager

Provides fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. Manages the day-to-day operation of the meat department, including fresh meat, deli, frozen, and custom cut departments (where applicable). Responsibilities include achieving financial targets, ordering products, training staff, and controlling inventory. Ensures compliance with all corporate policies and maintains excellent customer relations by offering high-quality products and courteous service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide consistent, friendly, and helpful customer service.
  • Handle and merchandise all meat products according to company policy.
  • Display comprehensive knowledge of all meat products to customers.
  • Maintain a neat and organized workstation following 5S standards.
  • Achieve all budgeted financial goals for the Meat Department, including sales, gross profit, shrink, inventory, and payroll.
  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling and training staff.
  • Order meat products and manage inventory control.
  • Cut meat using knives, saws, cubers, slicers, and grinders, adhering to safety standards.
  • Oversee all Meat Department staff and ensure policy compliance; train staff accordingly.
  • Maintain all corporate assets within the department.
  • Follow sanitation, temperature, and safety guidelines in compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain logs for grind and meat processing activities.
  • Support store operations as needed at the discretion of the Store Manager.
  • Control shrinkage through policy adherence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, following company policies and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to manage others and follow through to achieve results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & EQUIPMENT USED

Must meet physical requirements for the role and be capable of using equipment such as knives, saws, cubers, slicers, and grinders.
