Precision Castparts in Ohio is seeking a Bench Grinder/Deburr operator for a 6p-6a shift, Wed/Thu/Fri and every other Saturday. You will deburr aerospace castings to close tolerances using mounted abrasives, remove die lines, and polish surfaces according to procedures.

You will use precision measuring tools, train on saw equipment, maintain safety, and contribute to quality and productivity while meeting gating specs, reporting unusual conditions to supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; casting industry is a plus.
• Ability to interpret instructions and apply techniques on production jobs.

Responsabilités

• Conduct bench grinding and deburring on aerospace castings with close tolerances.
• Remove excess metal and polish surfaces on airfoil contours.
• Use mounted abrasive wheels or steel burrs on high-speed grinders to remove die lines and excess material.
• Sand blast castings per procedures and maintain quality per specs.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify work and detect defects.
• Follow safety rules and contribute to a safe work environment.
• Meet production and quality goals and report unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Train on and operate Impact and/or Trim Saw equipment in addition to bench equipment.

Position Summary 6p-6a Shift Blast/Steel castings to remove excess material. Following specific instructions, the Bench Grinder/Deburr operator works with minimal assistance to deburr manufacturing products, ensuring all productivity, safety and quality guidelines are achieved.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Works with little assistance to conduct bench grinding/deburring operations frequently to or on products containing critical features and close tolerances on aerospace parts.
• Removes excess metal from airfoil contour and polishes surface.
• Removes die lines and excess metal from root, shelves, tip and other areas of castings by using mounted abrasive wheels or steel burrs on high-speed grinders.
• Sand blast castings to specific procedures.
• Maintains responsibility for the quality of castings to ensure the operations meet specifications on gating.
• Uses various measuring instruments in order to accurately accomplish bench/deburring tasks.
• Performs work in a safe manner by following all safety rules and providing recommendations to help make PCC a safe work environment.
• Achieves team production and efficiency goals by working to meet all operational and quality standards to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Visually check casting surfaces for flaws and other defects.
• Detects faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual conditions to supervisor.
• Be willing to train on and operate Impact and/or Trim Saw equipment, in addition to bench grinding/deburring equipment.

Shift — Continuous Operations: 6pm to 6am— Wednesday/Thursday/Friday and every other Saturday

Experience And Education

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Manufacturing experience preferred, previous experience in the casting industry in a plus.

• Ability to interpret instructions given and apply experience and training throughout the course of the day for each production job assigned.
• Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Willingness to learn and, as required, help and/or train others.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments, test equipment or other devices where interpretation is required.
