Job description

Belmond Travel Advisor (West Coast Area/Pacific Time Zone)

Belmond is a collection of more than 50 iconic hotels, trains, safaris, and river cruises worldwide. Culture, community, and cuisine take center stage in curated adventures, from the Mediterranean to Machu Picchu. Inspiring retreats are set on Caribbean beaches, by the edge of Iguassu Falls, and overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Awe-inspiring train journeys include the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and Andean Explorer. Luxurious river cruises allow guests to glide through the heart of France, while extraordinary safaris showcase Africa at its most majestic. Belmond celebrates the art of travel, with experiences ranging from gliding through Thailand’s emerald jungles to riding on horseback through the Okavango Delta. With our vast offerings, the opportunities to craft a unique career here are endless. Join us and achieve the truly exceptional.

The Belmond Travel Advisor will partner with guests to make every journey with Belmond unique and legendary. They will own all steps of the reservation process, from Inspiration, Research, and Booking through to post-stay follow-up. They will work closely with on-property operations teams for seamless handovers and communication of guest preferences.

Belmond Travel Advisors will personalize each stay to the guest’s individual preferences, accurately recording this information in relevant systems for the operations teams to execute. They will understand the Belmond audiences and proactively suggest destinations, products, and experiences that match the guest profile.

In addition to daily reservations, each team member will manage a small portfolio of VIGs via the Clienteling APP, nurturing and retaining top guests to contribute to higher guest repeat and retention rates.

Primary responsibilities include:

  1. Be a true seller and champion for all Belmond products across the full portfolio, able to describe, promote, and convert any product a guest wishes to book.
  2. Respond to booking, rate, and availability inquiries promptly, treating each as an opportunity to convert and following up proactively.
  3. Meet SLA targets such as response times, case/queue management, and case classification accuracy in Salesforce Omnichannel.
  4. Achieve assigned conversion targets, maximizing sales opportunities.
  5. Ensure guest profiles contain accurate data and preferences, updating and maintaining them diligently.
  6. Interact professionally, yet conversationally, maintaining warmth and approachability.
  7. Understand guest motivations and tailor conversations accordingly, considering whether they are new or long-term loyal guests.
  8. Suggest perks or enhancements for loyal guests within guidelines.
  9. Upsell by recommending upgrades, transfers, experiences, etc., to enhance guest stays.
  10. Show system expertise in HMS, Travel Studio, Salesforce Omnichannel, and InfoHub, championing technology that improves guest experiences.
  11. Keep guest profiles updated, accurate, and free of duplicates, taking ownership of each interaction.
  12. Meet and exceed data capture and profile completeness targets.
  13. Propose system or process improvements where applicable.
  14. Ensure InfoHub is comprehensive and current to support reservation and pre-stay communications.

This is a fully remote, work-from-home position. Candidates should reside near the West Coast/Pacific Time Zone of the US. Candidates in California, Colorado, and Washington are not eligible.
