Job description

Reporting to: Front Office Managers, Assistant Director of Front Office, and Director of Front Office

Job Purpose

As a Bell Attendant, you will delight our guests and provide a seamless arrival and departure experience, assisting them with their queries and unexpressed wishes.

The Bell Attendant is the first point of contact for guests, providing insider knowledge about hotel services and making guests feel welcome.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Open doors and greet guests as they enter and leave the hotel.
  2. Assist guests with carrying luggage during check-in and check-out; safely and promptly deliver and pick up luggage from guest rooms.
  3. Tag and place guest luggage in storage at guest request; retrieve luggage for guests from storage.
  4. Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets, guest room features, and services to guests; provide information regarding local attractions and activities.
  5. Assist guests with transportation by getting taxis or arranging car services; open car and taxi doors for guests.
  6. Occasionally run errands for guests and deliver items to guest rooms.
  7. Accept mail for the hotel to be given to the front desk; refer package deliveries to the front desk to be accepted and logged; occasionally deliver packages to guest rooms.
  8. Attend to any special requests from guests.
  9. Respond appropriately to guest complaints; inform the supervisor of major problems, complaints, disturbances, or dissatisfied guests.
  10. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments.
  11. Inspect and clean hotel entrance and surrounding areas of litter and debris.
  12. Maintain a courteous and professional manner.
  13. Consider the guest experience in everything you do; delight in offering the best assistance to our guests.
  14. Take pride and personal ownership of our guests’ arrival, departure, and overall experience.
  15. Maintain 100% guest recognition on all VIPs arriving/departing, repeat guests, and company directors visiting outlets.
  16. Perform any other duties, if capable, as requested by management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions according to established procedures.
  2. Fluent in the English language.
  3. Work efficiently, utilize multi-tasking, and prioritize tasks.
  4. Adhere to uniform, grooming, and personal hygiene standards.
  5. Adhere to posted schedule and attendance at mandatory meetings.
  6. Personal comportment in line with Standard, New York policies, standards, and expectations.
  7. Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  8. High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  1. Able to traverse spaces throughout the building and outside as necessary.
  2. Able to work standing for a minimum of 10 hours a day.
  3. Periodical bending, kneeling, and stretching.
  4. Able to pull, push, carry, and lift at least 50 pounds.
  5. Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands.
  6. Prior guest service work experience.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
