Requirements
  • Preferably Native English Speaker, effective communicator, Teaching Certification a plus
  • Bachelor's or Advanced Degree
  • 2+ years of teaching experience a plus

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This list is not exhaustive:

Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • To teach IB PYP/MYP Music tailored to students' needs
  • To prepare and implement the IB PYP/MYP Music curriculum to develop student confidence, proficiency, and love of learning, and to prepare for IB assessments and exams
  • To establish and maintain supportive classroom environments
  • To ensure that the environment, materials, and equipment are safe, clean, attractive, challenging, functional, anti-bias, and developmentally appropriate
  • To be aware of the needs of students learning English as an additional language
  • To plan and organize curriculum and activities meeting students' physical, social, intellectual, and emotional needs
  • To support students in developing critical and creative thinking skills through inquiry and experimentation
  • To prepare written reports, including parent conference reports and references for tertiary education when applicable
  • To maintain records of student progress according to school policy
  • To communicate with the Senior Leadership Team, parents, and outside specialists regarding student support and assessment
  • To conduct parent conferences with detailed assessments and examples of student learning
  • To collaborate with co-teachers on student needs and curriculum planning
Pastoral and Wider Community
  • To use non-contact time for preparation, meetings, and coverage
  • To interact positively and supportively with students, modeling high standards of conduct
  • To ensure student safety and well-being, including during off-site activities
  • To support students' social and emotional growth
Other Duties
  • To attend meetings and maintain punctuality
  • To communicate professionally with parents
  • To organize family project events and presentations
  • To foster cooperation and respect among colleagues
  • To contribute to school community development and suggest improvements
