Job summary

ZooTampa at Lowry Park is seeking a Supervisor of Training and Enrichment to advance behavioral husbandry, training, and enrichment across all animal teams. You will work with the behavior team to guide staff in evidence-based conditioning and enrichment strategies that support animal welfare and guest engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in psychology, biology, zoology, or related field.
• 3–5 years in animal training, behavioral husbandry, or enrichment in zoological settings.
• Strong knowledge of operant and classical conditioning principles.
• Ability to teach and mentor staff in training and enrichment techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret behavioral data and accreditation standards.
• Leadership to coordinate accountability groups (ATL, EDG) and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Support behavioral modification and enrichment programs across all animal teams.
• Coach staff in operant and classical conditioning and maintain training records.
• Coordinate with hospital, leadership, marketing, and development on welfare initiatives.
• Lead or support accountability groups (ATL, EDG) and staff training workshops.
• Assist with development of enrichment strategies and documentation.
