Qualifications

  • CPR/AED/First Aid certifications (YMCA willing to train).
  • 1+ year experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Join Our Summer Team as a Behavioral Technician at Camp Watchaug!

The Ocean Community YMCA is hiring Behavioral Technicians for Summer 2025 at Camp Watchaug in Charlestown, RI!

Help us create an inclusive, fun, and safe camp experience for children and teens with emotional, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. As a key member of our summer team, you’ll support participants in building confidence, life skills, and friendships through active participation in YMCA camp activities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with campers needing extra support

  • Use positive behavior techniques to promote inclusion and personal growth

  • Collaborate with camp staff to create a full and enriching camp experience

  • Provide personal care, if needed, in a safe and supportive environment

What You’ll Need:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • CPR/AED/First Aid/Emergency Oxygen Administration Certifications-YMCA willing to train

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (1+ year preferred)

  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and a passion for youth development
