The Child Mind Institute is looking for an experienced and motivated Behavioral Technician to join our clinical team and work directly with our patients and families in our Anxiety Disorders Center. The Behavioral Technician receives training in evidence-based interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The behavioral technician will participate in one to one and group supervision from licensed clinicians.

Training focuses on the accurate diagnosis and use of evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. Clinical training and experiences may include conducting semi-structured diagnostic assessments, implementing individual, family, and group interventions (including within the selective mutism, social anxiety and OCD program), participating in intensive interventions, didactics, providing education in the community.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Anxiety Disorders Center, this is a non-exempt, part-time position located in our NYC headquarters.

You Will:
  • Provide evidence-based treatment, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), SPACE, and mindfulness-based interventions, to children, adolescents, and young adults with anxiety disorders, including patients with comorbid anxiety and other disorders.
  • Conduct family-based interventions with parents and other family members and maintain collateral contacts with educators and other providers
  • Collaborate with our board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists on cases requiring pharmacotherapy.
  • Provide detailed progress notes for each patient to supervisors. Enter all information into electronic health record
You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, human services or related field.

  • Prior experience working with children and/or in a clinical setting preferred.

  • Experience with conflict resolution.

  • Experience handling sensitive information

  • Passion for the Child Mind Institute's mission.

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
