Job summary

Sevita’s Bright Light ABA program in Ridgeland, MS is seeking a Behavioral Registered Technician to support individualized treatment plans and data collection. You will work closely with participants, families, and the clinical team to reinforce skills and ensure consistent behavior analytic progress.

The role requires a High school diploma or equivalent, an RBT credential or plan to obtain within 30 days, and CPR/First Aid certification where required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • RBT Credential or plan to obtain with guidance and able to complete exam within 30 days of hire.
  • Two years of college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience with individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury or developmental behavior challenges with severe problem behaviors preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure treatment plans are implemented and maintain therapeutic relationships.
  • Collaborate with family and treatment team; educate parents/guardians on reinforcement and intervention.
  • Prompt safe replacement behaviors and fade prompts to promote independence.
  • Accurately collect behavioral data and complete documentation timely.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and external guidelines.

Behavioral Registered Technician
  • Ensure that individuals’ treatment plans are consistently implemented by following the treatment plan goals and interventions, building and maintaining a therapeutic relationship with those served, utilizing sound judgment, and seeking out appropriate consultation.
  • Collaborate with family and treatment team members; educate parents/guardians on reinforcement and intervention information when requested.
  • Utilize appropriate interactional style and maintain dignity and respect towards those served.
  • Prompt safe and socially acceptable replacement behaviors in order to build a repertoire of communication, social interaction, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fade prompts appropriately to promote successful independent responding.
  • Increase the frequency or duration of safe and appropriate replacement behaviors by providing access to reinforcers.
  • Review participant progress objectively using behavior analytic methods, identify solutions to barriers, and make recommendations to the supervisor and behavior analyst when needed.
  • Accurately collect behavioral data as defined in the RBT program as needed.
  • Complete all clinical and residential documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Review daily updates such as new programs, access level changes, scheduled sessions, etc.
  • Ensure proper implementation and retraining as needed by routinely communicating with staff.
  • Schedule and prepare for leisure activities to keep participants engaged and active when therapy sessions are not taking place.
  • Participate in training and refreshers from clinical staff on the implementation of program updates to ensure that rehabilitative objectives are achieved.
  • Attend clinical meetings such as access review meetings, clinical team meetings, progress conferences, etc. as assigned.
  • Provide up-to-date residential status of participants and identify problem areas affecting the participant; implement solutions as recommended by the clinical team.
  • Understand and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with relevant external regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • RBT Credential or desire to work toward obtaining the RBT Credential with guidance provided, and the ability to complete that training and board exam within 30 days from hiring date.
  • Two years of completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or related field preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury or other individuals with developmental behavior challenges who engage in severe problem behaviors preferred.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification as required by state.
  • Current driver’s license in good standing, car registration, and auto insurance if providing transportation for individual receiving services.
  • Professional, with the ability to maintain composure and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly.
  • A good listener with an ability to empathize while still providing guidance.
