Job summary

Jefferson Parish Schools in Harvey, LA seeks a Behavioral Intervention Teacher to deliver primary intervention for students with behavioral challenges. The role includes coaching, one-to-one and group presentations, and supporting regular and special education staff with instructional and behavioral strategies.

Candidates must hold a Louisiana Teaching Certificate and have at least three years’ experience working with at-risk students. Training in CPI and Trauma-Informed Practices is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate.
• Three years of successful experience teaching at-risk or behaviorally challenged students.
• Demonstrates leadership, collaboration, and learner advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventions and train staff in behavioral interventions.
• Monitor data collection and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
• Facilitate team meetings on PBIS, classroom organization, and effective instruction.
• Provide push-in services to promote healthy relationships and increased instructional time.
• Conduct conflict resolution and peer mediation sessions.
• Serve as a consultant to administrators, teachers and parents.
• Review behavior referrals and data reports (JCampus).
• Coordinate schedules and maintain required records.
