The Vista HillLearning Assistance Center ProgramandMental Health Contracts Programare teams of therapists, behavioral rehabilitation staff, and psychiatrists who provide comprehensive treatment and work in a seamless and integrated manner at school locations with teachers, school counselors and administrators. Clinical staff address school related issues and help students succeed with academics, social interactions, and improve family relationships.

THE POSITION

The Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist is a mental health professional who works under the supervision of the Program Manager and coordinates clinical care with the program therapist. The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provides linkage and consultation as well as direct services to a caseload of clients. The primary focus areas of direct service include case management, resource support, behavioral intervention plan development and implementation. Examples of tasks include:

  • Conducts child/youth and family focused, strength-based assessments, within the context of a local school/home/community service plan.
  • Develops client plan goals and objectives, in coordination with the therapist, to address the client’s needs for rehabilitation and case management services, while developing an appropriate transition plan.
  • Implements behavior intervention plans in the school, home, and community setting. Provides support and training to parents and teachers.
  • Conducts regular case conferences with therapist, teachers, and family members in order to effectively coordinate care and efficiently manage services.
  • Provide education and rehabilitation groups as needed to broaden the scope and range of services and ensure that client and family needs are met.
  • Maintains client charts, develops service plans, case synopsis, completes assessments and program outcomes, and writes progress reports.
  • Collaborates with programs and agencies such as schools, probation Child Welfare, and community agencies, and utilizes them as part of the multidisciplinary team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience working in a special education setting/classroom preferred.
  • AA degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field, plus 4 years’ experience, OR BA and 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience working in school-based mental health program, mental health clinic, day treatment facility or other behavioral health setting.
  • 2-4 years professional experience in working with high risk youth.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Must pass background check, drug test and TB test.

HOURS

Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week, school hours.

PAY

Current Vista Hill employees in these job titles for 2024 are paid $20.50 - $23 per hour.

BENEFITS

Employees working over 30 hours a week receive employer-paid benefits, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off (vacation and sick leave), paid holidays, employer-paid retirement contribution and clinical supervision (if applicable). Some programs qualify for student loan forgiveness programs.

Employees who work less than 30 hours a week do not qualify for healthcare benefits.
