Job Description:

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Treatment Team Facilitator – AMH at Georgia Regional Hospital - Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.

Salary $67,296.26

The position involves leading a multi-disciplinary team in facilitating and writing treatment plans in an acute inpatient setting with adults, often from underserved communities with severe mental illness, histories of trauma, impulse control problems, and interpersonal issues. Both the population served and the staff working at GRH-A are ethnically and culturally diverse. We welcome applications from clinicians with diverse backgrounds and with competency in service provision with diverse clients.

Primary responsibilities of the Treatment Team Facilitator include conducting and facilitating interdisciplinary treatment planning on an Adult Mental Health units, including connecting the reasons for admission to relevant goals and interventions, as well as addressing medical and behavioral risk factors and discharge criteria, all to promote the recovery, maintenance, and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
  • Serve as job expert or organization resource in multi-disciplinary treatment planning
  • Consistently meet all timeliness and quality expectations consistent with DBHDD policy and external accrediting agency expectations
  • Act as client advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations
  • Collect information about clients through interviews, observation, and tests
  • Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on review of client information
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to client’s treatment
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress according to measurable goals described in treatment and care plan
  • Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
  • Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision
Sample Technical Competencies:

Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans Ability to facilitate daily multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings Ability to communicate effectively with both clients and coworkers with skill and professionalism Ability to provide clear and thorough written documentation Ability to manage a caseload with multiple deadlines and complex task expectations on a routine basis Ability to integrate and communicate clinical information from different sources and multiple disciplines, including nursing, psychiatry, social work, psychology and activity therapy.

Preference will be given to those who, in addition to meeting the above qualifications, also possess the following:

Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or other human services field

Experience working in an inpatient setting with the Severe Mental Illness population

Experience working on an Interdisciplinary team.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience; or Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of job-related experience or one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Behavioral Health Counselor 2, Licensed (HCP221).–NOTE: All positions require applicable licensure or certification.
