Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health seeks a visionary VP to lead behavioral health programs across Orange County and Los Angeles. You will drive clinical quality, operations, staffing, and financial performance, while setting the treatment vision and ensuring top-tier care.

You will coach program managers, oversee licensing and compliance, and build key referral and payer relationships to advance the organization's mission.

Qualifications

• License/certification: CADC-II+, LMFT, LPCC, LCSW or equivalent.
• Master's degree preferred (Healthcare Administration, Leadership, or related).
• 8+ years in behavioral healthcare; 5+ years in leadership/management.
• Ability to run residential and outpatient programs end-to-end (clinical/operational).
• Extreme ownership of Akua programs in OC/LA; strong integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own programs in Orange County and Los Angeles region—clinical quality, operations, staffing, finances.
• Coach and hold program managers accountable; step in if leadership is absent.
• Set treatment vision, ensure care quality, documentation, supervision, and program structure.
• Serve as final authority on emergency care, high-risk admissions, and interdepartmental operations.
• Monitor census, length of stay, sessions, attendance, and outcomes; drive improvements.
• Lead hiring, termination, and discipline for program leadership with CEO/EVP.
• Maintain licensing, accreditation, and compliance; engage with governing bodies as needed.
• Build and maintain referral, hospital, payer, and industry relationships.
