Job description

Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team at Bellefield Towers (Oakland)! Bellefield Towers’ Adult Services Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) addresses the needs of those receiving treatment for bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and depression.

The intensive outpatient program offers an opportunity to learn and practice DBT skills while working with a diverse population. Clinicians will learn how to effectively manage and treat challenging and complex cases. This position will help clinicians develop skills in lethality screenings, safety planning, treatment planning, documentation, psychoeducational group therapy, and discharge planning. We offer various IOP groups for specialized populations.

This position is based at Bellefield Towers, Monday – Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, Oakland.

Our Behavioral Health Therapist is eligible for a Sign-on Bonus!

1-year work commitment: $5,000

2-year work commitment: $7,000

3-year work commitment: $10,000


Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement efforts.
  2. Complete same-day clinical documentation and support insurance authorization processes.
  3. Review patient cases regularly and collaborate with supervisors and clinical staff.
  4. Assess and update treatment plans based on patients' evolving needs.
  5. Conduct initial assessments under supervision and apply treatment models effectively.
  6. Provide individual and group therapy, involving families and educating patients on recovery.
  7. Maintain thorough documentation of all clinical activities.
  8. Coordinate with the clinical team for additional services or referrals.
  9. Attend treatment team meetings to review progress and plan continuing care.
  10. Track daily clinical productivity.
  11. Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to diverse patient needs.
