Job summary

Plains Area Mental Health Center in Carroll, IA is seeking a Behavioral Health Therapist to provide direct counseling to individuals, families, and groups on-site. You will conduct intake assessments, develop person-centered treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies.

You will monitor progress, document in the EHR, coordinate with clinicians, and participate in supervision while engaging in outreach to support rural mental health services.

Qualifications

• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in Iowa as a mental health professional.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Experience with CBT/DBT and trauma-informed care.
• Ability to document care in compliance with standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel between sites if needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based counseling and psychotherapy interventions.
• Monitor client progress and document sessions in the EHR.
