Job summary

Inova Health System seeks a Behavioral Health Therapist II to support Addiction Treatment Services (CATS PHP and IOP Merrifield). This PRN position will facilitate daytime groups and integrate bio/psycho/social assessments into care plans.

Qualified candidates will hold a master's or doctoral degree in a mental health field, with 2 years of relevant experience and appropriate licensure. BLS and CPI certifications are required within set timeframes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree or Doctoral degree in mental health, social work, counseling or related field.
• Two years of mental health/substance use treatment experience with evidence-based interventions.
• BLS certification within 3 months; CPI within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose mental health or substance use disorders; develop individualized plans with patient/family.
• Provide therapy interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral strategies.
• Coordinate care, refer to resources, and facilitate groups and community outreach as needed.

Inova Behavioral Health Center Fairfaxis looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist II to join the Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services (CATS)PHP and IOP Merrifield team. This role will be PRN to facilitate groups during the day.

Behavioral Health Therapist II Job Responsibilities:

• Assesses and diagnoses mental health and/or substance use disorders through a bio/psycho/social department-specific evidenced based assessment identifying patient and family goals and needs. Integrates assessment using information related to cultural, clinical, ethnic, age and other factors into the plan of care.
• Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
• Provides care management to ensure that the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment/intervention outcomes. When indicated by role, participates in inpatient and community psychoeducational programs, facilitates support groups for specified disease processes related to mental health, medical diagnosis and chronic or life-limited illnesses while assisting with community outreach as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Healthrelated field.
• Experience: Two years of experience in mental health/substance use disorder treatment, psychoeducational programming including targeted, evidence-based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, and integrative therapies).
• Certification:Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association within 3 months of hire. Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire.
• Licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with patients dealing with substance use disorder
