Description

Position: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT),PART-TIME,2nd and 3rd Shifts

Classification: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

The Behavioral Health Technician position is a valuable part of the Serenity Haven Team. The Serenity Haven Team consists of the Program Director, Therapist, Case Managers, Nurse, Psychiatrist and other BHTs. This team actively works together and collaborates regarding the care of 16 clients in a women’s residential facility struggling with substance use disorder and/or dual diagnosis disorder issues. The goal of this team is to work collaboratively and assist clients in developing skills and tools to manage substance use disorders and/or dual diagnosis disorders and live successfully within their community.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Works to develop rapport and trusting relationships with clients served.
  2. Observes client behavior and events within the facility and documents information in the program log to communicate information to other team members.
  3. Assists the client with self-administration of medication.
  4. Transports and observes clients at self-help and community events.
  5. Facilitates the following of rules and guidelines established by the program to ensure structure and safety of clients.
  6. Follows agency policy and procedure and maintains compliance with accreditation bodies – CARF and OMHAS.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma required, Associates Degree in social work or related field preferred.
  2. Training and experience in the mental health and addiction field preferred.
  3. Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and ability to be insured by agency provider.
  4. Subject to BCI background check, pre-employment drug screen, TB screen, and reference checks.
  5. Must be 21 years of age.
