Job Summary: A Technician assists with collecting information for individual intake and admission based on interviews with clients, their families, significant others, and appropriate community agencies. They help the treatment team identify individual strengths and weaknesses and develop a treatment or care plan for specific activities, services, or programs. They also monitor the individual's progress toward treatment goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Monitor the individual's physical and emotional wellbeing and report unusual behavior or physical complaints to the supervisor or Charge Nurse.
  2. Obtain the individual's physical condition and vital signs at designated times during the shift and as directed by LPN, RN, MD, or APRN.
  3. Assist individuals by providing ADL supplies such as towels, washcloths, soap, and keeping beds, clothing, and living areas clean.
  4. Assist in the admission and discharge process, including obtaining vital signs, conducting safety searches of individuals and their belongings, and orienting new individuals to the unit.
  5. Lead milieu activities such as current event groups, community meetings, fitness groups, activities of daily living, and recreational activities.
  6. Chart observations following prescribed procedures and standards, and document vitals in Carelogic.
  7. Participate in educational programs, in-service meetings, and trainings to enhance professional growth and development.
  8. Participate in emergency codes necessary for the unit's safe operation.
  9. Respond appropriately to crisis situations, including physical interventions such as seclusion or restraint if necessary.
  10. Provide direct care for individuals as needed.
  11. Transport individuals to approved locations at discharge.
  12. Assist in preventing and managing crisis situations.
  13. Help serve meals and snacks as needed for Food Service Workers.
  14. Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
