Job summary

Bradford Health Services in Smithville, TX is seeking PRN Behavioral Health Technicians to support treatment programs and ensure patient safety. The role includes assisting with daily activities, documentation, and transportation as needed.

The position requires valid driver’s license, CPR certification, and the ability to work around patients in a therapeutic environment; prior substance use recovery is considered. This PRN role offers flexible scheduling at the facility near Austin’s outskirts.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of chemical dependency recovery.
• Must be able to walk within the facility and grounds for approximately one mile per eight-hour shift.
• Must be able to continuously sit for approximately three hours per eight-hour shift.
• Must be able to administer CPR and be certified.
• Must be able to see and hear constantly.
• Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
• Maintain records and have good communication skills.
• Must be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one hour.
• If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in luggage and body searches.
• Monitor and sometimes facilitate Book Studies and Recovery meetings.
• Be aware of patient locations and document hourly checks.
• Ensure patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for each assignment.
• Supervise and sometimes facilitate patient activities as directed.
• Ensure patients are in their rooms at the designated time in the evening.
• Oversee med line to prevent diversion and de-escalate situations.
• Assist patients to and from activities, medication times, and meals when unable to walk.
• Assist the counselor as assigned and engage in documentation.
