Oceans Behavioral Hospital Baton Rouge is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support nursing staff in delivering patient care for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. You will perform vital signs, ADL assistance, nutritional monitoring, and documentation to ensure safe, therapeutic care.

Work under licensed staff, follow Joint Commission and state regulations, and adapt care to the individual needs of each patient.

Qualifikationen

• Must assist licensed nursing staff in delivering patient care.
• Ability to perform vital signs, ADL assistance, nutrition monitoring.
• Respect age-specific and cultural needs in care.
• Maintain safety and infection control standards per policy.

Aufgaben

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Demonstrates de-escalation and therapeutic intervention as needed.
• Inventories patient belongings and secures contraband; conducts safety checks.
• Adheres to infection control policies and attends required in-services.
• Performs patient care activities under supervision, including vitals and nutrition monitoring.
• Assists with laundry, meals, and mobility needs; supports at-risk patients.
• Tailors care to patient age, disability, and cultural needs.
• Documents patient observation, nutrition, weights, intake/output accurately.
• Communicates task outcomes to nursing staff and follows up on patient needs.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
