Brief Description

CRi is a well-known non-profit organization located throughout Northern VA, Richmond VA, and Maryland that is dedicated to providing quality services to enable individuals with a wide range of disabilities to live as independently as possible.

We are opening a new Forensic Mental Health program at our Richmond location! We are hiring Full Time & Part Time OVERNIGHT Behavioral Health Technicians. The Behavioral Health Technician in our Mental Health Forensic Group Home plays a crucial role in providing specialized care and support for individuals with mental health disorders within a forensic setting. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the Behavioral Health Technician ensures the well-being, safety, and rehabilitation of individuals who may have a history of involvement with the criminal justice system.

OVERNIGHT Schedules Available in zip code 23236:

  • Monday - Thursday 11pm-9am (40hrs) $20/hr
  • Friday - Sunday 11pm-9am (30hrs) $22/hr
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Client Care
  • Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health disorders in a compassionate and therapeutic manner.
  • Implement and monitor treatment plans as outlined by the clinical team, ensuring individualized needs are met.
Behavioral Management
  • Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and address behavioral concerns, promoting a therapeutic and supportive environment.
Medication Administration
  • Administer prescribed medications as per established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medication schedules.
  • Monitor and document individuals' responses to medication, reporting any side effects or concerns to nursing and medical staff.
Therapeutic Support
  • Assist in facilitating therapeutic group activities, counseling sessions, and skill-building exercises to promote social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to implement evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities.
Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Report significant changes or incidents promptly to the supervisory team.
Collaborative Teamwork
  • Work with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and external providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training to enhance professional skills.
Safety and Security
  • Implement safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular safety checks of the facility.
Crisis Response
  • Respond effectively to emergencies following established protocols to ensure safety.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certification preferred.
  • Experience in mental health, forensic, or related settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapeutic techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
  • Valid driver's license with a good record.

Physical Demands: Light/heavy lifting, repetitive bending, and mobility required.

Working Environment: Residential, indoor/outdoor, community locations.

Supervision: None.
