The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) manages the immediate milieu of patients, facilitates group therapy, aids with activities of daily living, and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment, under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Consistently provides supervision for assigned patients.
  • Facilitates psycho-educational groups.
  • Documents observations of patient behavior clearly.
  • Performs basic housekeeping tasks to maintain patient living areas.
  • Ensures patient safety at all times.

Shift Hours:

8-hour shifts (3pm - 11:30am)

Shift Differential Pay:

Weekdays (3pm - 11pm): $3.25, weekdays (11pm - 7am): $5.00; weekends (7am - 3pm): $2.00, weekends (3pm - 11pm): $5.00, weekends (11pm - 7am): $7.00.

Retention Bonus:

This position is eligible for our retention bonus program (eligible after completing the sign-on bonus); current retention bonus for BHTs is $4,000.

Advancement Opportunities & Incentives:

BHT Career Ladder Program: A new BHT must be employed for 6 months before being introduced to the program. Advancement in title and pay is possible by following the program's process.

$1 added to base pay if bilingual (must pass a language assessment; assessment available after 30 days).

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services preferred.
  • Two or more years of education in nursing, psychology, social services, medicine, or related fields, or completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training, or similar program preferred.
  • At least one year relevant experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license in applicable state required.
