Job summary

The Emily Program in Saint Paul seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to support adolescent residents in a residential setting. You will assist with daily activities, monitor progress, lead planned activities, and help residents build skills to manage their eating disorder.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with one year of mental health experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mental health field with 0-1 year of experience
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the care team on treatment plans and admissions
  • Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and supports programming
  • Reports observations and documents in charts
  • Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction
  • Enforces policies and completes hourly room-checks

Education

High School diploma or GED

Position Overview

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT’s) monitor and assist adolescent clients in the residential milieu, lead activities designed to help the residents adjust to living in a community setting and assist the residents in gaining the skills needed to manage their eating disorder. BHT’s play an integral role in the day-to-day function of the clients’ experience.

Schedule
  • Full Time 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Evening/Overnight
  • Day Shifts: 6am-2:30pm, 8am-4pm
  • Evening Shifts: 2pm-10:30pm, 4pm-12:30am
  • Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
  • Schedule is made a month at a time with a combination of both day and evening shifts
Compensation Disclosure
  • BHT I: Starting hourly range between $18.00-$21.00
Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position
How BHT’s Empower Recovery
  • Partners with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming
  • Participates in therapeutic meals and snacks and provides support during structured outings and recreation
  • Available to engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Reports observations and documents in charts
  • Monitors and supports bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitors and documents exercise.
  • Responsible for enforcing appropriate policies with residents and completing all expected tasks including hourly room-checks
Qualifications:
