Responsibilities

Mental Health Technician (MHT) Full Time schedule available

Five 8-hour shifts, to include every other weekend for 11p-7:30a shift - floating units

(A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY 8:30A-5P)

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, with an experienced management team serving New Castle County and northern Maryland.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care to geriatrics, adults, adolescents, and children with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned
• Participate in treatment planning
• Assist in the admission process
• Orient new patients to the unit and their program
• Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
• Maintain patient, program, department, and related documentation

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field, or equivalent experience in a behavioral health setting. Strong communication, customer service, organizational, listening, and clinical skills.
• Experience: At least 2 years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and mental illness understanding preferred.
• Additional Requirements: CPR certification and Handle with Care training during orientation.
