Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • One year of relevant job experience required.
  • Valid driver's license required, Certified peer recovery specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes safety checks and assists clients during emergencies.
  • Maintains documentation of client interactions and vital signs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides support and stabilization services to clients in the Walk-in Center and Crisis Stabilization Unit. Provides peer and crisis support services, information, education and support for clients. Promotes wellness, recovery and skill building through group and individual interventions.

Position is full time with 8-hour shifts. Current shifts available are Sat-Wed 4p-12a and one with varying shifts/days depending on facility needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides support and interventions in both group and individual settings, focusing on the improvement of the client’s functioning and mental health needs.
  • Obtains vital signs and reports results to nursing.
  • Completes 15-minute safety checks.
  • Provides assistance, supervision and interaction to client throughout work shift.
  • Inventories, documents and secures client belongings.
  • Ability to de-escalate clients using evidence-based de-escalation training, e.g. Therapeutic Options, to include safety holds, as necessary.
  • Use of basic technology, such as data entry and documentation of vital signs and shift notes.
  • Provides assistance during medical emergencies as directed by nursing staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Skill in crisis intervention (preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level

High School diploma or GED required.

Years of Experience

One year of relevant job experience required, preferably in mental related field required. Education/experience equivalency may be considered upon approval.

Certification/Licensure

Valid driver's license required. Certified peer recovery specialist preferred.
