Job Description :

Mental / Behavioral Health Technicians (MHT / BHT) provide compassionate care and supervision of children and youth. They support young people in achieving their treatment goals through daily activities, teaching coping techniques, and positive behavior skills. You will work closely with nurses and therapists to reinforce treatment plans, document client activity, and maintain a safe environment.

Base Pay :

$21-$23, dependent upon education and experience

Location :

North Kansas City, KS or Olathe, KS - 2 locations

Training :

One week of paid on-the-job training is provided and required. Training is scheduled over a 2-week period, so attendance for 6 days is necessary.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise youth at all times to ensure their basic needs are met and assist with daily responsibilities, activities, and living skills.
• Engage with and build relationships with youth, support their emotional needs, and teach social skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly residential environment and support treatment outcomes.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution (Bachelor's in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields preferred).
• 6 months to 1 year of related experience or training with mental health or at-risk youth (preferred).
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Essential Functions :

Employees must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations if needed. Physical demands include standing, walking, speaking, hearing, tasting, smelling, handling, reaching, climbing, bending, and lifting. Lifting requirements vary up to 75 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
