RHD is hiring compassionate individuals to support our program, Stepping Stones!

Stepping Stones is a 12 month position in RHD's Stepping Stones Long-Term Partial Hospital Program serving children ages 6 to 11 from the Philadelphia area with significant behavioral, emotional & traumatic histories. The program is a behavioral health program that offers individual, group and family therapy, medication management with the Child Psychiatrist, as well as functioning as the child's educational setting with classroom instruction with up to 4 hours per day. We work closely with the Philadelphia School District & neighborhood schools. The program follows a modified schedule according to the Philadelphia School District for vacation and holidays and includes a seven-week therapeutic summer program.

Sign on Bonus:

$1500.00 to be paid out after 6 months.

The Behavioral Health Technician will contribute to the clinical and academic planning and interventions provided by Stepping Stones Partial Hospitalization Program. The Behavioral Health Tech participates as a member of the clinical team and also participate in weekly Case Conferences. They contribute to the education component in the program by supporting the child in class both behaviorally and academically. The Behavioral Health Tech will lead Community Meetings in the mornings and facilitate end of the day Summary Groups. Ongoing behavioral support and crisis management throughout the day is required along with writing daily progress notes in accordance with CBH and State requirements.


Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the formulation of treatment goals and intervention by assessing behavioral needs in collaboration with the clinical team.
  2. Implementation of interventions from each child's treatment plan
  3. Work with a caseload of assigned children and complete all programmatic and administrative tasks associated with that caseload.
  4. Provide and participate in the daily, structured, milieu programming for Stepping Stones Partial Hospitalization Clients.
  5. Facilitate Community Meeting groups.
  6. Assist and support the Special Education Teacher.
  7. Help clients to manage crisis situations, using de-escalation and crisis management techniques.
  8. Monitor children during mealtimes, snack times, and other transitional periods during the day.
  9. Complete progress note recordings that document daily contacts with each child.
  10. Perform other duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or other field related to human services from an accredited college or university.
  2. Two or more years of professional experience involving direct contact with children or adolescents is preferred.
  3. Must cooperate with all required criminal background checks, child abuse clearances, and other security screening procedures.
  4. Must complete an orientation the Stepping Stones Partial Hospitalization Program for Children and Resources for Human Development, Inc. within 90 days of hire
  5. Must complete all required CBH and RHD trainings.
