Mental Health Technician (MHT) Full Time schedule available

Five 8-hour shifts, to include every other weekend for one of the following shifts; 7p-7a, 3p-11:30p or 11p-7:30a - Child/Adolescent Unit

(A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS MANDATORY 8:30A- 5P)

Rockford Centeris a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

In this rewarding role, you will provide direct patient care to geriatrics, adults, adolescents and children with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned
  • Participate in treatment planning
  • Assist in the admission process
  • Orient new patients to the unit and their program
  • Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
  • Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Education:Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or similar previous experience with adults in a behavioral health setting. Strong communication skills, excellent customer service and organization skills, highly effective listening skills, and strong clinical skills.
  • Experience:Two (2) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
  • Additional Requirements:CPR certification and Completion of Handle with Care training during orientation process.
