BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN - Child/Adolescents

Responsibilities

• Work five 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend, with shifts available from 3-11:30pm or 11-7:30am.
• Complete a mandatory 2-week orientation from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
• Provide direct patient care to children and adolescents with psychiatric disorders to ensure safety and well-being.
• Monitor unit patients and complete rounds as assigned.
• Participate in treatment planning and assist in the admission process.
• Orient new patients to the unit and their program.
• Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions.
• Maintain accurate patient, program, and department documentation.

Located in Newark, DE, Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility offering inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, serving New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related experience in a behavioral health setting.
• At least 2 years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care preferred.
• CPR certification and Handle with Care training during orientation.
