Malvern Community Health Services (MCHS) seeks to support children, adults, their families, role models, caregivers, friends, and members of their spiritual communities by providing individualized, trauma-informed, strength-based behavioral health supports and services that foster meaningful relationships and a fulfilling life in our communities.

Currently, MCHS is accepting applications for BHTs to work with children and adolescents, primarily in the Philadelphia School District, providing one-on-one support and assisting families, caregivers, and schools.

Position Summary

Behavioral Health Technicians (BHT) deliver specialized behavioral services based on detailed treatment plans under the supervision of a BC, who is responsible for the treatment plan.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Provide one-on-one behavioral interventions to clients.
  2. Assist parents/caregivers and teachers with implementing behavior plans.
  3. Monitor and intervene in challenging behaviors as outlined in the treatment plan.
  4. Collaborate with team members and work on transferring skills to others.
  5. Attend monthly treatment team meetings with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  6. Complete all paperwork within policy timeframes and provide services within authorized hours.
  7. Participate in staff meetings and mandatory trainings, adhering to IBHS policies.
  8. Complete required training hours annually: 20 hours for experienced BHTs, 39 hours within six months for new BHTs.
  9. For less than six months of experience, receive six hours of on-site assessment; for more than six months, three hours.
  10. Develop therapeutic rapport with clients, families, and the treatment team.
  11. Attend weekly supervision with a master's level mental health professional.
  12. Travel to client sites as required (100% travel).
  13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with either:
    • Completion of a 40-hour RBT training (free of charge), or
    • Minimum two years of experience in behavioral health services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education), with either:
    • Completion of a 40-hour RBT training (free of charge), or
    • Minimum two years of experience in behavioral health services.
