As a Behavioral Health Technician Lead specializing in addiction medicine, you will oversee and support a team of Behavioral Health Technicians in delivering compassionate, structured care to individuals in detox and residential treatment. This leadership role combines hands-on client interaction with staff supervision and operational coordination. Your guidance and clinical support will help ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care throughout their recovery journey.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure proper adherence to treatment protocols, facility policies, and client care standards
  • Coordinate daily schedules, assign shifts, and manage team coverage to meet operational needs
  • Lead regular team check-ins, training sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Provide direct assistance in complex or high-risk situations, including behavioral incidents or medical emergencies
  • Support clinical alignment by communicating with nurses, therapists, and case managers regarding client care and program needs
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members in addiction recovery practices and safety procedures
  • Monitor overall program performance and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of shift activities, incidents, and client observations


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in addiction treatment or mental health care, with prior leadership experience strongly preferred
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Passion for supporting individuals in recovery


Requirements:

  • Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or equivalent from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board
  • Prior supervisory experience in a behavioral health or addiction medicine setting.
