Behavioral Heath Technician (Intake) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents through geriatrics depending on which unit worked. BHT’S work under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Accurately check in patients upon arrival and promptly enter required demographic and clinical information into the electronic medical record to initiate and support the admission process in a timely and efficient manner.
Take and record vital signs promptly and ensure patient safety through continuous supervision of patient.
Monitor each patient’s location per the Observation Policy and Procedure and utilize sound judgment during assessment and observe and documents any changes in a patient's appearance, behavior, or ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
