The following positions within Inpatient Adolescent Psychiatry, Inpatient Adult Psychiatry, Psychiatric Emergency Services, CARES, and Outpatient Behavioral Health Services are offering a program with a cash incentive recognizing your work treating patients with substance use disorders. Sponsored through the ACCESS grant, employees must be >0.6 FTE. Bonuses are paid 90 days after signing the contract, until funds are exhausted.

  • Registered Nurses (RNs) may earn up to $7,500
  • Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) may earn up to $3,500
  • Care Navigators may earn up to $3,500

Job Summary

Under close supervision, responsible for providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. Provides direct patient care, conducts therapeutic group sessions under RN supervision, contributes to the care plan, assists with admissions, and orients patients and families to the unit.

Essential Functions

  1. Assists with admissions, discharges, transfers, documentation, and obtains vital signs. Collects laboratory specimens as directed by RN. (25%)
  2. Performs transportation duties, including delivering specimens, blood products, medications, and using the pneumatic tube system. (25%)
  3. Differentiates normal from abnormal findings, reports abnormal values or conditions. (20%)
  4. Maintains confidentiality, provides care in seclusion/restraint per regulations, aware of legal aspects including patients' rights. (10%)
  5. Promotes positive relationships with staff, patients, and visitors; treats everyone with courtesy, dignity, and respect. (10%)
  6. Supports Denver Health's mission and values, adheres to attendance guidelines. (10%)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two years' experience preferred or equivalent combination.
  • BLS certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Sensitivity in dealing with psychiatric patients, effective communication, observation, documentation skills, basic MS Office. Ability to assess growth, development, and cultural factors.
