General Summary

Assists the professional staff in the care of psychiatric patients and facilitates the maintenance of a therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit.

Job Details

Full-time, evenings (3-11:30 pm), includes every-other-weekend & rotating holidays, 80 hrs/2 weeks.

Responsibilities
  • Provides care considering safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.
  • Assists in patient care and evaluation.
  • Helps patients with activities of daily living.
  • Checks vital signs and charts observations accurately following hospital procedures.
  • May apply physical restraints or assist with patient seclusion under supervision.
Expectations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles relevant to the patient population.
  • Commits to safety, error reduction, and process standardization.
  • Maintains policies, quality, safety, and infection control standards.
  • Engages in professional growth activities.
  • Provides excellent service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certificate Program Certified Nursing Assistant or some college social science preferred.
  • Less than 1 year relevant experience required.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire required.
  • Child Protective Services Law clearance required upon hire.
