Job summary

The Emily Program in Columbus is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support residential and inpatient milieu by facilitating activity groups, helping clients build coping skills for eating disorder recovery, and maintaining a recovery‑oriented environment. This full‑time role involves 2pm–10:30pm shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.

This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, charting observations, and ensuring safety and support for residents in their care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher or at least 2 years of healthcare experience in a similar position/ related field preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, behavioral health, or a related field; a relevant certification or licensure preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and be authorized to drive.
• Previous direct mental health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the multi-disciplinary team on care plan and treatment, assisting in admissions, supporting or assisting clients in programming.
• Participate in therapeutic meals and snacks and provide support during structured outings and recreation.
• Engage, challenge, and support residents as needed. Report observations and documents in charts.
• Monitor and support bathroom use per client treatment direction. Monitor and document exercise.
• Enforce appropriate policies with residents and complete all expected tasks including hourly room-checks.

Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician supports the residential and inpatient milieu by facilitating therapeutic activity groups, assisting clients in acquiring skills to manage their eating disorder, maintaining a recovery-oriented environment, and providing general support and assistance.

Schedule

• Full-time, 0.8 (32 hours/week)
• 2nd shift, 2pm-10:30pm
• Rotating weekends and holidays required (Pending staff needs)

Compensation Disclosure

• BHT I: Starting hourly range between $18.00-22.00

Final Compensation

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position
