Position Overview

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, and patient care plans, performs a variety of direct patient care activities for patients with addiction, behavioral problems, or mental health issues. Provides positive interactions and a safe environment to maximize patient wellbeing. Notifies the manager of any significant patient care issues.

Shift Details

Part-time 24-hour days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of one-year college experience in Behavioral Health, Allied Health, Psychology, or related field, or at least one year of Behavioral Health Technician experience or applicable experience such as EMT.
• Two or more years of experience as a Behavioral Health Technician in an inpatient psychiatric or addiction setting preferred.
• Ability to physically manage patients safely and therapeutically.
• Effective interpersonal skills to interact with patients with empathy and support.
• Analytical skills to assess patients and gather relevant data.
• Ability to collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver safe, quality care.

Certifications

• Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation and maintain active certification.
• Complete WELLE training within the first three months of employment and maintain active WELLE certification.
