Renew360° is a detoxification and residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Toms River, New Jersey, dedicated to helping individuals begin their journey to lasting recovery. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care with a multidisciplinary team of licensed counselors, medical professionals, and addiction specialists.

The Behavioral Health Technician role is full-time, onsite, with overnight shifts (6pm–6:30am) on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, focusing on client support,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (if required for transport duties).
• Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and physical condition with regular wellness checks.
• Assist clients with daily living activities (hygiene, meals) and encourage program participation.

JOB PURPOSE

A Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) at Renew360° will provide direct patient care and support to individuals with substance use and mental health challenges within a residential or detox facility. The core responsibilities include monitoring client behavior, assisting with daily routines, ensuring a safe environment, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

TIME COMMITMENT

Full time, in person onsite position, consisting of three 12 and a half hour shifts with weekends and holidays as assigned. This role will be working overnights(6pm-6:30am) Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Client Support & Supervision

1. Provide direct, compassionate care and support to clients in a therapeutic environment.
2. Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and physical condition, conducting regular wellness and safety checks.
3. Assist clients with daily living activities (e.g., hygiene, meals) and encourage participation in the program.
4. Oversee medication self-administration/monitoring and conduct necessary urinary analyses.

Treatment Implementation & Crisis Intervention

1. Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention plans developed by licensed professionals.
2. Facilitate group sessions and milieu activities such as community meetings, life skills, and psychoeducation.
3. Respond to crisis situations using de-escalation techniques and ensure safety protocols are followed.
4. Utilize behavior modification and motivational interviewing skills to teach desirable behaviors.

Documentation & Administration

1. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, observations, and incident reports in an electronic medical record system.
2. Assist with intake/admission and discharge processes, including client orientation and inventory of personal belongings.
3. Drive clients in company vehicles to appointments or community activities as needed.

Team Collaboration

1. Collaborate effectively with clinical staff, nurses, doctors, and therapists to develop and adjust treatment plans.
2. Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training sessions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Indoor environment (95%)
2. Must wear required PPE and designated attire
3. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and grasping
4. Occasional twisting, squatting
5. Repetitive motions and manual dexterity required
6. Lift/carry up to 20 lbs frequently; push/pull 21–75 lbs occasionally
7. Good hearing and vision required
8. Must be able to drive as part of job duties
9. Possible exposure to communicable diseases
10. Business casual dress code with uniform provided by Renew360°.

REQUIREMENTS

Required

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum 18 years of age.
3. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
4. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (if required for transport duties).
5. CPR/First Aid certification.

Preferred

1. At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health, substance abuse, or mental health setting.
2. Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
3. Knowledge of addiction and mental health issues
