Job summary

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center is seeking Behavioral Health Technicians to support a residential adolescent treatment program in Arizona. The role emphasizes safety, supervision of daily living activities, and adherence to individual treatment plans to help youth stabilize and grow.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass a thorough background check and obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED required, plus a minimum of two (2) years of combined education and/or relevant experience in human services, behavioral health, social services, or a related field.
• Experience working with youth and/or in behavioral health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, accountability and security of campus.
• Teach, coach and supervise students in activities of daily living including morning, bedtime and overnight procedures, hygiene and cleanliness, housekeeping, meals, intramurals, sports, academics, and extracurricular activities both on and off campus.
• Observe the peer culture for patterns of behavior indicating progress or regression in the program.
• Observe individual student behavior over time and recognize progress towards treatment goals.
• Effectively communicate, both written and orally.
• Follow and implement individual treatment plans for all students.
• Recognize escalating behaviors and intervene at the appropriate level to ensure safety and security.

Behavioral Health Technician Qualifications

Mingus Mountain Youth Treatment Center (MMYTC) is a nonprofit residential behavioral health treatment center serving adolescents with serious emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders.
