Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Location: Laveen, Az Phoenix, Az Company: Mattie’s Care House, LLC Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / On-Call Schedule: Sunday–Saturday
Morning Shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Evening Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
Overnight Shift: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM Salary: [Competitive]
About Us:
Mattie’s Care House, LLC offers a supportive, trauma-informed residential program for at-risk youth males ages 7 to 17. We specialize in addressing behavioral, emotional, and psychological challenges, empowering youth to develop life skills and long-term resiliency.
Position Summary: Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) provide direct care and supervision in a therapeutic group home setting. They implement behavior plans, ensure safety, and support youth through structured routines and intervention strategies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport residents safely to appointments, school, and activities
Prepare and submit accurate daily progress notes
Inventory and purchase supplies as requested by supervisor; submit required documentation for expenditures
Administer specific medications and accurately document in medication logs
Provide behavioral supervision, mentoring, and de-escalation when needed
Implement treatment plans and daily programming
Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety of the residential environment
Participate in staff meetings and ongoing training
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum 1 year of experience in personal care, Relias training, childcare, or behavioral health-related fields
Experience working with children with behavioral health needs preferred but not required
Registered Behavioral Health Technician (RBHT) certification preferred – MCH will provide support to obtain credentials
Qualification Requirements:
Must be at least 19 years of age
Must test negative for tuberculosis (TB) prior to start date
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card from the Arizona Department of Public Safety
CPR & First Aid certification preferred
Prevention & Support certification preferred
MCH will pay for training and certification as needed
