Job summary

IU Health Riley Hospital in Indianapolis, IN, seeks a Behavioral Health Technician to support adolescents in inpatient care. This full-time day-shift role operates under the supervision of the behavioral health team to provide essential basic care and ensure patient safety.

You will perform trained observations, report findings, participate in group therapy, and assist with admissions, transfers and discharges, with occasional basic triage to support clinical operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Requires 1-3 years of relevant healthcare or mental health experience.
• Basic computer skills required.

Position Overview

The Behavioral Health Technician provides essential basic care and maintains the safety and security of patients under the supervision of the professional behavioral health team. This role involves making trained observations, reporting findings to the mental health team, participating in group therapy sessions, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The technician may also perform basic triage duties as assigned, supporting the overall mental health care delivery.
