Job description

Cape Fox Facilities Services (CFFS) is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to support a critical DoD program. Duties and responsibilities include:

1. Conduct or assist in treatment and rehabilitation of patients, including initial assessments such as psychological testing, clinical interviews, mental status exams, substance abuse evaluations, and nursing assessments.
2. Identify mental health and nursing diagnoses, and provide patient education.
3. Observe, monitor, record, and report patients' progress.
4. Conduct or assist in group and individual counseling, therapeutic community, and milieu activities.
5. Implement safety measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.
6. Assist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort needs.
7. Record vital signs and other relevant health data.
8. Coordinate care with other agencies regarding treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation.
9. Collaborate with military and community agencies to obtain collateral information.
10. Explain and interpret mental health services to patients and their families.
11. Assist with patient referrals to public, private, and military community agencies.
12. Maintain accurate records and reports related to services provided.
13. Support individuals experiencing acute or post-traumatic stress reactions.
14. Prepare and maintain detailed treatment records.
15. Communicate effectively with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, including military personnel, leadership, spouses, and families.
