The Wood Group Behavioral Health Services in Austin, TX is seeking a compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to support residents with behavioral health challenges and provide structured care in a 12-hour day shift.

You will assist with meals, supervise medications, document daily charts, and uphold safety and dignity for all residents. A high school diploma and strong empathy are essential, with preferred behavioral health certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Prior mental health or behavioral health experience is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices, safety protocols, and crisis intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals and follow the facility menu.
• Complete items on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Supervise resident medication procedures and document narcotics counts.
• Complete daily chart documentation.
• Familiarize with The Wood Group’s policies and procedures.

Job Duties

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures. Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time. All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
