Join us as a Behavioral Health Technician II at Arkansas Children's.

Position Details:

  • Shift: Day Shift (7a-7p)
  • Full-time
  • Department: CC013189 Acute Crisis Unit

Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician's primary role is to support the health and well-being of patients by providing safety observations, redirection, de-escalation, and care for at-risk patients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (Recommended)
  • Related Field Work Experience: 2 years (Required)
  • Certifications: CBHT, CNA, CMHT, RBT, or equivalent (Recommended)

Responsibilities:

  • Document patient mood, mental status, sleep, eating habits, and overall function.
  • Monitor and document vital signs.
  • Recognize and report early signs of escalation.
  • Communicate effectively with the treatment team.
  • Respond to dangerous behaviors safely.
  • Apply de-escalation techniques.
  • Assist with patient care tasks delegated by licensed staff.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
